CastorPro Hybrid Seed

CastorPro #1 is a kind of middle-maturing hybrid variety.

1. Yield: Its ordinary yield is about 4500 kg/ha. For high-yield culture, its yield could be above 6750 kg/ha. The productive potentiality of single plants could be more than 1000 g.

2. Characteristics: It will take about 120 days from the seedlings coming out to main spikes becoming ripe. The plant is 225 cm high and has 4-5 first branches. The main spike is 65-95 cm long and looks like a pagoda. The capsules have dense thorns. The seeds are elliptical and there are some brown-red veins on them. The weight of 100 seeds is about 52 g. Kernel rate is 75%. The oil content of the seeds is 50% and oil content of the kernels is 67%.

3. Cultivation essentials: CastorPro is suitable to be planted in such regions where the frost-free period is more than 135 days. In such regions where the frost-free period is less than 135 days, farmers can grow seedlings first, and transplant later. Cultivation density: the row spacing is 100-120 cm, the crop interspacing is 70-80 cm. The population density of plants per ha is 10500-13500. In such areas where the temperature is high and the sunshine is strong, the number of plants per ha could be increased to 16500-18000.

CastorPro #2 is the latest kind of middle-maturing hybrid variety.

1. Yield: Its ordinary yield is 4500 kg/ha. For high-yield culture, its yield could be above 6000 kg/ha. The productive potentiality of single plants could be more than 1000 g.

2. Characteristics: It will take about 105 days from the seedlings coming out to main spikes becoming ripe. The plant is 210 cm high. The diameter of stem is about 3 cm. Most stems are purplish red. The main stem has 7-10 joints. The spikes look like pagodas. Density of the capsules is moderate. The capsules are green which are difficult to split open and have lots of thorns. Spikes on the main stem are 55-67 cm long and on average each spike has 92 capsules. It has 4-5 first branches, the spikes on first branches are 63 cm long and each one has 78 capsules. Spikes on the second branches are 48 cm long and each one has 54 capsules. The seeds are elliptical and there are some brown veins on them. The weight of 100 seeds is about 36 g. Kernel rate is 76%. The oil content of the seeds is 51% and 67% for the kernels. It is able to endure saline-alkali soil and can resist the withering disease.

3. Cultivation essentials: It is suitable to be planted in such regions where the frost-free period is above 125 days. Cultivation density: the row spacing is 100-120 cm, the interspacing between the crops is 70-80 cm, population of plants per ha is 10500-13500. In such areas where the temperature is high and the sunshine is strong, the number of plants per ha could be increased to 16500-18000.
